The Apparition Incursion is a new seasonal event introduced with season 8 of the game.
Belials hordes are trying to over Sanctuario. You have to chase his apparitions during the event, then defeat several bosses until Belial himself appears, waiting for you to defeat him.
Basically it's not that much different from similar events in the past, only that now you have to search fro apparitions and bosses all over the area.
However you may gain boss powers from finishing these events. Boss powers are a new feature in season 8, allowing the player to use some of the powers from the various boss monsters.
