Aelis Siryasius can be found in the sewers below the city of Baldur's Gate. Apparently he and his companions stole something from Gortash and fled to the underground in order to hopefully escape the wrath of the Absolutists Gortash. But they became incresingly paranoid. Aelis and Bareki killed Sarin, because they thought she'd be with the Absolute. Aelis summoned some grease elementals and even thinks of them as cousins. You can avoid immediate combat by suceeding in a skill check, but if you're getting near Sarins corpse, Aelis and the elementals attack you. So I had to do some cleanup...
